How is usage calculated?

Our system only charges for the time our receptionist is on the phone with your caller. Usage is added up and charged weekly to ensure you only pay for what you need.

Do I have to sign a yearly contract?

No, our service agreement is month-to-month, giving you the flexibility to adjust your services as needed.

Do I need to change my business number when I sign up?

No, we provide you with a phone number to forward your existing business number to, so you can keep your number and enjoy the benefits of a virtual receptionist.

How do I receive my messages?

We’ll email you all your messages, and you can choose to receive a text message as well. 

What other services do you offer?

We specialize in receptionist services and are dedicated to providing the best customer experience possible.

Can I forward my calls to my cell phone or another phone?

Yes, we can reach you on any number you’d like, and you can forward as many numbers as you need, including your cell.

Can we get a new number if we choose?

Yes, if you would like to use our phone number for your business, we can set that up. Additional fees apply.

What is required to get started?

Simply fill out an intake form to start your free week  trial. We will contact you and ask about your business and specific call handling instructions. We request a credit card on file, and setup is typically completed within 2-3 business days.

Do live receptionists answer all of my calls?

Yes, our team of live receptionists will handle all of your calls during our normal business hours or just the ones you miss. 

Where is Modern Receptionist located?

We’re located in East Mesa and are proud to serve businesses in the area and around the nation.

What will the receptionist say when they answer the phone?

Your greeting script is completely customizable! Most clients prefer a standard greeting of “Good [time of day], [Company name], this is Jane, how may I help you?”

What if I'm unavailable to take the call?

Our receptionists are trained to provide your caller with the information they need and take a message so you can call them back at your convenience. 

What are your hours?

We’re available Monday through Friday during normal business hours to ensure your callers always receive a prompt and professional response.

Can I have my calls recorded?

Yes, all of our calls are recorded for quality and training purposes and kept on file for 30 days. If you request a call recording, please reach out to your dedicated manager.

What happens to my calls when you aren't answering? How does call forwarding work?

Your setup includes an after-hours auto attendant, allowing your calls to leave a message or be connected to an on-call employee at your company. Alternatively, the caller can be routed to an offsite phone number of your choosing.
